2008 LAKE FORK TEAM TRAIL RULES 1. RULES AND REGULATION: all contestants must strictly follow these guidelines, as set forth on this entry form. It is each contestant’s responsibility to read and fully understand these rules because entrants may be disqualified for noncompliance and may be required to forfeit all prize money and entry fees if they fail to comply with rules and regulations. Each entrant agrees that by signing this entry form, the decisions of the tournament judge/director will be final in all respects. 2. PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY: No participant can be a professional guide on Lake Fork or have fished a tournament with an entry fee of more than $500 in the last 12 months. 3. REGISTRATION: $100.00 per team is to be paid in full no later than 30 minutes before launch. CASH ONLY! 4. LAUNCHING AND TRAILERING: Weigh-in and registration will be at Lake Fork Marina. If registration has been paid in full, trailering is allowed. You are not allowed to have your boat on the water until 30 minutes prior to start time, and cannot start fishing until the official start time set by the tournament director. 5. TACKLE AND TROLLING: Only one fishing rod maybe used at any one time, and each cast must be completed before another cast is made. Only artificial baits me be used (pork rind trailers are the only exception). Trolling with the combustion engine is not allowed 6. BOATS, MOTORS AND SAFETY: Any boat may be utilized if it meets all state and local legal requirements, including but not limited to, horsepower ratings. All boats must have adequate, functioning livewells with aeration provided. Coast Guard approved life vests must be worn and fastened while the boat is on plane. In case of mechanical failure or in an emergency situation, contestants may transport their catch to the weigh-in site by way of another contestant’s boat. NOTE: Lake Fork Team Trail and its representatives will not be responsible for boating, water, travel or any other accidents. Each contestant is solely responsible for his or her actions, including situations that result from inclement weather. It is each contestant’s own personal decision to travel to and/or fish this tournament regardless of weather conditions. Lake Fork Team Trail does not encourage anyone to take undue risk simply to participate in an event. 7. SPORTSMANSHIP: No fishing is allowed from outside a contestant’s boat or within 50 yards of another contestant’s anchored or tied boat that has it trolling motor in the stored position, without the express permission of it occupants. No Ladders or platforms used for sight fishing (during the spawn) will be allowed on tournament boats. “Hole Holding” is not allowed and anyone displaying poor sportsmanship, breaking state or local laws or violating any of the rules of this tournament trail will forfeit their entry fee and may (at the discretion of the tournament director) be disqualified from future events. 8. NARCOTICS AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: May not be consumed during practice or tournament hours. For the safety of all concerned, contestants must also not use narcotics or consume alcohol immediately prior to the commencement of the tournament or operate a boat under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol. 9. CONTESTANTS/AGE: Entered contestants may assist another contestant n the same boat in landing or netting fish. Contestants under the age of 18 years old may enter and fish only if accompanied by their parent, grandparent or legal guardian. 10. ON THE LAKE: Officials may be on the lake during tournament hours and all contestants are required to cooperate with inspection requests and comply with instructions given by tournament officials regarding rules and regulations. 11. PUBLICATION RIGHTS: By signing entry form contestants agree to allow Lake Fork Team Trail sole and exclusive right to take and publish pictures of him or her as a contestant and use this material, or dispose of it, in any legal manner without further permission or compensation to the contestant. 12. PRIZE MONEY: Each contestant, by signing entry form, represents that he or she understands and agrees that the prize money to be paid may be adjusted based on the total number of entries. 13. PREFISHING: Guides may not be hired, fished with or followed during practice days. Contestants may not fish with anyone who has been on the lake during the off-limits period immediately preceding the tournament. 14. PRACTICE AND OFF-LIMITS: 12am the day of the tournament. 15. FISH LENGTHS AND LIMITS: Dead fish will be penalized at 1/4lb per dead fish. 4 photo fish max (per team) and or 1 fish over 24in (per contestant). One person cannot catch both over slot fish. Under the slot fish may be brought in 10in up to 16in. Photo fish will be calculated off of the Lake Fork Conversion Chart. Teams may have a maximum of 5 fish. 16. SHORT FISH: Teams will be penalized 5lbs for short fish and the short fish will not be weighed. Photo board must be used properly or photo fish will not be allowed. Mouth must be touching the board and the pinched tail of the fish must be visible against the measuring sheet. Tournament director will keep pictures. 17. SLOT FISH: Teams will be penalized 5lbs for each slot fish brought to scales. All fish brought to the scale most be 10-16in or over 24in. 18. TIES: Will split the prizes of that and the next place (i.e. 1sst and 2nd) 19. TEAM: Consists of two contestants that have paid in full. A contestant may fish alone out of necessity as long as both entry fees of both contestants have been paid in full. Lake Fork Team Trail reserves the right to appoint a non-fishing observer. Changing or acquiring a partner is allowed during the course of the series, but points earned by the “ team” prior to change of partner will be discarded. There may only be one team per boat. 20.
SCORING:
Top team will be calculated off of
the most weight throughout the tournament series 21. BIG BASS POT: To qualify for Big Bass Pot you must fish at least three tournaments of the trail that year. After 50 entrees paid 2 big bass overall will be out. 2/3 for first and 1/3 for second.
